Is Professor Emerita of Old Testament at the University of Graz and has published extensively on gender and sexuality in the Hebrew Bible. She will support this research with her expertise on gender issues and the Bible.
Prof. Dr. Birgit Heller (University of Vienna, Austria)
Is a scholar of Religious Studies with a special focus on systematic-comparatist approaches to religion and gender and will support this project with her expertise on gender issues in Religious Studies.
Dr. Frank Hinkelmann (Martin Bucer Seminary, Austria)
Is rector of the international Martin Bucer Seminary, President of the European Evangelical Alliance and engaged in the International Council of the World Evangelical Alliance, and an expert on the history of the evangelical movement in Austria. He will support this project by providing access to evangelical literature and representatives in Austria.
Prof. Dr. Lukas Pokorny (University of Vienna, Austria)
Is Head of the Department of Religious Studies and an expert on contemporary, new and alternative religions in Austria, who will assist the project in exploring the local context and wider transnational network of the case studies concerned.
Prof. Dr. Michele Dillon (University New Hampshire, USA)
Is dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Professor of Sociology. Her research focuses on authority in the Catholic Church, moral politics and religion and cultural change, post-secular Catholicism, and Catholic identity. She will support this project with her sociological expertise on contemporary Catholicism.
Prof. Dr. Maria Theresia Ploner (Philosophical-Theological College of Brixen/Bressanone, Italy)
Is Professor of New Testament and spiritual consultant of the Catholic women’s movement of the diocese of Bozen-Brixen. She has published on women in the Roman Catholic Church and on the biblical hermeneutics of Pope Francis and will support this project with her expertise in these areas.
Prof. Dr. Gunda Werner (University of Bochum, Germany)
Is Professor of Dogmatic Theology and in 2019 became the first chairwoman for the AGENDA-Forum of female theologians. Werner will support this project with her expertise on Roman Catholic gender discourses.
Prof. Dr. Beth Allison Barr (Baylor University, USA)
Is Professor of History and Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and has published a best-selling monograph on The Making of Biblical Womanhood. She will support this project with her expertise on women in evangelicalism.
Prof. Dr. Katja Rakow (University of Utrecht, Netherlands)
Is Associate Professor of Religious Studies with expertise in the transformations of religious identity and the emergence of global “megachurches”. She will support this project with her expertise on religious norms in contemporary independent evangelical movements.
